The Sumerians, Akkadians, Babylonians, Egyptians, Nubians, Chinese, Persians, Mayans, Aztecs and Inca, among many others, all have similar examples in their ancient literature that could be interpreted as evidence of extraterrestrial intervention. In fact, examples of these so-called mythological accounts in human cultures throughout history are far too numerous to recount here. Because these historical records are referenced as potential evidence, they have become rather controversial. Essentially, the interpretation of these records as fact or fiction is what fuels the controversy. In this analysis, we are not attempting to evaluate the ancient civilizations that wrote of gods coming down from the sky and interacting with our ancestors. The Sumerian, Egyptian, and Indus Valley civilizations, among others, all have such accounts dating back several thousands of years. And these accounts represent some of the more tangible pieces of evidence for the modern version of the hypothesis. However, we are focused here on individuals in history who used this collective memory if you will, to formulate a defined concept that could be evaluated externally through logic and reason.
